Opera Garment Solutions
Doc. 20 / About

The returns recovery operator for mid-to-premium fashion.

Opera Garment Solutions brings returned, damaged and unsold garments back to resale-ready condition without shipping every item to one central warehouse. Operating under KALOSTAR S.L., a Spanish legal entity headquartered in Vic, Barcelona.

A

Purpose

Make item-level garment recovery economically viable for brands that currently write it off, sell it to inventory jobbers, or destroy it. Recovery becomes a measurable margin line, not an aspiration.

B

Operating model

A distributed network of professional garment care facilities across Europe. One commercial contract, one audit trail, one operational partner across the network.

C

Specialism

Mid-to-premium event wear and special garments are the wedge category. Occasion dresses, tailored suits, bridal, leather jackets — where per-unit recovered value is highest and per-unit handling care matters most.

D

Compliance

Documentation per jurisdiction. ESPR destruction ban, AGEC France, the EU revised Waste Framework Directive, Sweden's separate textile collection, the Netherlands' textile EPR.

Origin

Why Opera exists.

Mid-to-premium fashion brands carry returned, damaged and unsold stock at every stage of the season. Most write it off or sell it in bulk for less than 7% of garment value. The cost is absorbed against margin, the regulatory exposure is rising, and the data that would justify a different operational shape simply does not exist.

Opera was built to fix the data gap and the operational gap together. Item-level recovery, item-level data, on a network that already exists in the markets where the stock sells. Recovery becomes a measurable margin line, not an aspiration. Compliance becomes a documented audit trail, not a quarterly memo.

What we work on

Item by item, garment by garment, market by market.

A returned silk slip dress with a sash detached. A tailored suit with a hem label still attached. A pile of unsold occasion wear from last season. A leather jacket marked at the collar in transit.

Each one is a recoverable garment graded out of the resale flow because nobody in the brand has the operational shape to bring it back to standard. Opera is the operational shape. The numbers are reported back per SKU, in pounds, against your own stock. The audit trail is built in.
